You can usually find a TDM game pretty easily. Might take a minute or two of wait time, but the multiplayer is still fairly active. Multiplayer is dead, zombies will still be one for atleast an year or so. If youre thinking about multiplayer dont even bother. Dead playerbase and multiplayer is trash anyway.

In terms of online, I prefer MW1, but I have no idea how active it is almost 7 years later. I will say that Crysis 3 still has a very sizable community and is my preference for Call of Duty multiplayer, as many of the gimmicks plaguing the recent games have been toned down and cut out, especially in the Cell v Rebel gamemodes.
